Christopher R. Lanni, CPP, CMCA, AMS®
Christopher R. Lanni is a seasoned security management and risk advisor with over 30 years of experience. During the past twenty years, he has focused on assessing and identifying security risks, developing and implementing security related programs, and assessing the use and deployment of security-related technologies to address those risks in residential communities and within the field of property management.
Mr. Lanni is the President and Founder of Secure Residential Services, LLC which is an independent advising firm. He has also worked with Barkan Management for twenty years and is currently serving as their internal Security & Risk Advisor providing services to a portfolio of 150 properties and numerous projects under development.
In addition to his residential security expertise, Mr. Lanni has vast experience in other industries. He has held key security management positions in numerous venues during the course of his thirty-year career including the Children’s Hospital in Boston, several large retailers in the greater-Boston area as well as the Tremont House Hotel. Likewise, his recent experience includes providing services to the commercial property and hotel industries.
Mr. Lanni earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University with a concentration in Private Security Management. He has earned designations as a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) as well as an Association Management Specialist (AMS) through the Community Association Institute (CAI). Moreover, in 2005 he earned his designation as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS International, the preeminent international organization for security professionals. This designation is acknowledged as the security profession’s highest recognition of practitioners. Mr. Lanni also provides related advising services to a number of Habitat for Humanity chapters in the Greater Boston area.
Mr. Lanni is a subject matter expert who is frequently interviewed and often authors articles for both local and national trade publications. He is a member in good standing of ASIS International, CAI, the International CPTED Association, the International Association of Professional Security Consultants & the Association of Residential Security Directors where he served as President from 2014 to 2016.
